Perched on the fifth floor of Hotel Monte Cenci, the Tectum Bar is one of Rome’s most intimate rooftop experiences: a roof garden in the historic Rione Regola, nestled between the Jewish Ghetto, Campo de’ Fiori, and the Tiber river, with the terracotta skyline of the Eternal City stretching quietly around you.

Not a crowded hotel terrace. Not a tourist bar. A private corner of Rome, above the cobblestones.

Every morning between 7:00 am and 10:30 am, the Tectum comes alive with the scent of freshly brewed Italian coffee. This is where our guests begin their Roman adventure: not rushing through a lobby, but sitting among the rooftops, cappuccino in hand, watching the city slowly wake up below.

Our breakfast buffet is generous and thoughtfully composed:

Freshly baked Italian pastries and croissants
Selection of cheeses, cold cuts and seasonal fruits
Homemade jams, local honeys and organic yoghurt
Freshly squeezed juices and barista coffee (Lavazza)
Kosher options available on request
Vegan and gluten-free alternatives available

On warm mornings, breakfast on the Tectum terrace is, quite simply, one of the best ways to spend an hour in Rome.

Evening at Tectum — Aperitivo, Cocktails & Wine Above Rome

When the sun dips behind the domes, the Tectum becomes something else entirely.

As the afternoon light turns amber and the streets of the Jewish Ghetto slow their pace, the rooftop transforms into a chic lounge bar — soft lighting, plush armchairs, the faint clink of glasses, and Rome spreading out beneath you.
